conclusion
This study found that liuzijue qigong (6 healing sounds), a special type of breathing training focusing on controlled exhalation, is more effective in improving respiratory control and speech ability of patients with stroke-related dysarthria than traditional breathing training. Dysarthria, which is a common communication disorder among stroke survivors, is caused by the affected inspiratory and expiratory muscles of the patient. The study measured improvements in maximal phonation time and s/z ratio, indicators of glottal efficiency and respiratory support, and found that liuzijue qigong was more effective in improving these aspects than traditional breathing training. The study suggests that liuzijue qigong can be a useful therapeutic option for patients with stroke-related dysarthria.
