Main Points

Three class goals:

  • Learn the fundamentals of correct practice
  • Complete a routine and use it as a tool for the rest of your life
  • Connect directly with the Qi
Main Points

The ancients discovered Qi, or essential vital life force, thousands of years ago.

Qi means energy and Gong means cultivation, skill, or work.

Main Points
  • Seven individual lessons that culminate in a complete routine on Day 8 
  • Self-paced class – do one lesson a day, every other day, or one per week
  • Each lesson has an introduction and an instruction video. 
  • In instruction video:
    1. Watch what I do
    2. Listen to the narration
    3. Follow along with the movement
  • Each practice finishes with Shaking and Sensing, then Gathering and Storing.
Main Points
  • Day 1 Practice is called Cleansing.
  • Major goal is stress reduction.
  • Coordinate your breath with the movement.
  • Reach up – inhale. hands come down – exhale.
  • Place tip of tongue to the roof of the mouth.
  • Cleansing releases excess thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
Main Points
  • Cleansing should always be initial movement in a routine.
  • Raise the hands, inhale, and connect to the energy above.
  • Lower the hands, exhale, and connect to the energy below.
  • Coordinate movements with breathing.
  • Shake out your hands to heighten your sensitivity.
  • Shift focus to the hands to feel and sense the energy.
  • Then gather the energy back down and out of head and chest regions.
  • Finish with storing the energy.
Main Points
  • Sometimes in the development for some students, they may not feel Qi or it might be so subtle you may not be sensing or feeling things physically.
  • Qi develops physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
  • If you’re not feeling something on a physical level, it could be that your needs with Qi development are happening on the emotional, psychological, or spiritual level.
Main Points

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. So, congratulations. You just took your first step on your journey towards Qi development.
